What does the 30% deposit cover?
For a Private Build, it is 30% of the estimated total for the round described in your quote. It is credited against that round. Included deliverables, exclusions and estimated timing are shown before payment. It is not a guarantee of the final production price. Additional costs and scope changes require your approval.
When is the remaining balance due?
For the approved round, after you approve the physical sample and before production proceeds. A later production run or a larger scope requires a separate agreement.
Can I cancel?
A Private Build deposit can be refunded in full before maker confirmation. After that, the agreed cancellation terms apply. Preorders have project-specific shipping and refund terms; if the first-batch target is not reached by the deadline, full refunds are initiated.
Who owns the design?
Private Build rights are defined in your project agreement. The Creator Program distinguishes your existing IP from new funded engineering work, with Open, Embargo and Private tracks. Read the existing Creator Program rules.
How long will it take?
The estimate states the expected lead time for your actual scope. Your workspace shows the next update date and flags overdue commitments. Estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates.
Can I bring existing files?
Yes. Upload a brief, CAD, Gerbers, BOM or validation evidence to a private project and request a review.
